In reference to the story about long lasting marriages (Herald, Feb. 14), the article states that it was “luck” that my parents’ marriage lasted.
It wasn’t luck. Luck is a passive word where things just happen.
Maybe it was luck that they met, but it was love and mutual respect and generosity and a sense of adventure and commitment where they partnered in their marriage.
