Animas Valley Grange will host a presentation, “One-room Schools in Southwest La Plata County,” at 6:30 p.m. May 19 at the Animas Valley Grange Hall, 7271 County Road 203. Refreshments will be served at 6:15 p.m.
Fort Lewis College retired professor and author, Jean Campion, will explain how her research into one-room schoolhouses became a historical novel series about life on the Dry Side through the eyes of a one-room schoolteacher. The presentation is free and open to the public.
