Rep. Jeff Hurd promised he would protect Medicaid from cuts and then voted for the so called “Big Beautiful Bill,” which will cut Medicaid and food stamps.
Is this behavior acceptable for our representative? At least 10.8% of our district is on food stamps and over 100,000 are on Medicaid. Cuts to Medicaid will impact all rural hospitals that depend on Medicaid payments for their survival.
How can Republicans justify cutting life-saving benefits in order to give tax breaks to the very wealthy?
Additionally, this bill will raise the national debt, which the Republicans are so concerned about when Democrats are in power but forget that concern when they are in power.
What hypocrisy!
