Community Foundation Serving Southwest Colorado provides grant funds

San Juan Development Association announced that microloan funds continue to be available to help San Juan County, Colorado, businesses, and because of funding by the Community Foundation serving Southwest Colorado, 20% of the approved loan amount will be provided as a grant.

SJDA received $5,000 to offset microloan amounts with grant funding that does not need to be repaid.

These grant funds were made available through the Community Foundation’s ongoing commitment to economic and environmental recovery in northern La Plata and San Juan counties after the 416 Fire in 2018.

The San Juan Development Association Loan program, which began almost 20 years ago, provides San Juan County based businesses with capital to expand, relocate and start up, which in turn creates and retains jobs, and also brings new wealth into San Juan County.

Loans are available from $500 to over $7,500 for equipment, inventory, working capital, renovation of interiors and exteriors, energy efficiency efforts and other fixed assets or training/education.

Anyone interested in applying for a microloan can get materials by contacting laura@scan.org or downloading an application on the San Juan County website https://sanjuancounty.colorado.gov/econ.
