Document filing fees at the La Plata County Clerk and Recorder’s office will change on Tuesday as House Bill 24-1269 goes into effect.
- Recorded documents will be charged a flat fee of $43 per document, regardless of the number of pages, with an additional state document fee where property is conveyed.
- Death Records are exempt from standard recording fees, though surcharges may apply.
- Uniform Commercial Code filings do not change.
Residents should be aware that La Plata County will stop recording at 2:30 p.m. Monday so the recording vendor has time to update the software and for testing.
Recordings received after 2:30 p.m. will be recorded on Tuesday. ERecording will not available after 2:30 p.m.
