Editor’s note: A misprinted puzzle and the hunt for humor

In response to Steve Grant’s question (Letters, Herald, Sept. 10) about why the Aug. 22 “Puzzles & Funnies” page reappeared on Aug. 29: a designer mistakenly ran the Aug. 22 page again. Once we discovered the error, we corrected and republished the e-edition, directing readers who contacted us to the updated version. We acknowledged the mistake under corrections in the Aug. 31 edition but failed to add an editor’s note to Mr. Grant’s letter. “Puzzles & Funnies” has a devoted following, and we always hear from readers when errors occur.

Regarding Marilyn Nagler’s request for the return of John Peel to the Action Line columnist position (Letters, Herald, Sept. 7): the role is currently vacant. John, known for his humor, is unavailable, and we are actively seeking a new columnist who can deliver the intended humor the column deserves and readers have come to expect.
