The college football season isn’t going as well as Colorado Division I football teams hoped. Luckily for those teams and their fans, there’s still nearly two months of regular season football to play.
Not a single Division I Colorado college football team has a winning record going into Week 6. None of these teams were preseason national title contenders. However, the belief in the potential each of these team’s thought they had before Week 1 must’ve wavered by now.
This week might not be the answer for the Colorado schools, as each of the three schools that are playing will battle against opponents with winning records. However, if one of these schools can pull off an upset, it could trigger some momentum that makes the season a success.
Here’s a look at what matchups Colorado Division I college football teams have this week:
Where: Amon G. Carter Stadium, Fort Worth, Texas
How to Watch: FOX
Records: Colorado is 2-3 overall and 0-2 in the Big 12 Conference after its 24-21 loss vs. BYU on Saturday. TCU is 3-1 overall and 0-1 in the Big 12 Conference after its 27-24 loss at Arizona State on Friday.
Line: TCU is a 13.5-point favorite over Colorado.
Notes: Colorado looks to avoid a two-game losing streak after its tough loss against BYU. The Buffaloes had a 14-0 lead on the Cougars before BYU scored 17 unanswered. Colorado had a chance to tie or win the game in the fourth quarter, but quarterback Kaidon Salter threw an interception to end the game.
Salter finished the game with 119 passing yards, a passing touchdown, 49 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown. Cougars quarterback Bear Bachmeier finished the game with 179 passing yards and two touchdowns and led the team with 98 rushing yards.
TCU is coming off its first loss of the season in which the Horned Frogs were outscored 10-0 in the fourth against Arizona State. Horned Frogs quarterback Josh Hoover threw two interceptions and TCU allowed Arizona State to rush for 291 yards.
The matchup between Colorado and TCU is a significant one for Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders. His first game as coach of Colorado was a 45-42 upset win at TCU on Sept. 2, 2023.

How to Watch: CBSSN
Records: Colorado State is 1-3 overall after its 20-3 loss vs. Washington State on Saturday. San Diego State is 3-1 overall after its 6-3 win at Northern Illinois University on Saturday.
Line: San Diego State is between a 5.5 or 6.5-point favorite depending on the sportsbook.
Notes: Colorado State struggled on offense against Washington State and was scoreless for the last three quarters. The Rams new starting quarterback Jackson Brousseau finished 19/28 passing for 188 yards.
San Diego State also struggled on offense in its game against Northern Illinois. The difference was the Aztecs won the game, 6-3. San Diego State only had 266 yards of offense, but Northern Illinois was worse with 179 yards of offense.
The last time these two teams met was in 2023 and the Rams won at home, 22-19.
Where: Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium, Annapolis, Maryland
How to Watch: CBS
Records: Air Force is 1-3 overall and 0-3 in Mountain West Conference play after its 44-35 loss vs. Hawaii on Saturday. Navy is 4-0 overall and 3-0 in the American Conference after its 21-13 win vs. Rice on Saturday.
Line: Navy is between a 11.5 and 12.5-point favorite depending on the sportsbook.
Notes: Air Force’s offense wasn’t the problem against Hawaii. The Falcons had 216 rushing yards and quarterback Liam Szarka finished with 278 passing yards, three touchdowns and an interception. The Falcons couldn’t stop Hawaii quarterback Micah Alejado from finishing the game with 457 passing yards and three touchdowns.
Unsurprisingly, Navy had a strong day on the ground in its win over Rice, with 283 rushing yards and three touchdowns. What was surprising was that Navy quarterback Blake Horvath finished with a season-high 172 yards through the air.
Air Force last beat Navy in 2023 and the Falcons only loss to the Midshipmen this decade was last season in a 34-7 defeat.
