It’s time for local sports fans to grab their gloves, jackets and pants because fall is here and that means important fall sports action in cold temperatures at night.
All local high school fall sports teams have less than a month left in their seasons, while most Fort Lewis College teams have over a month left. Therefore, all local teams have a good idea of where they stand in the playoff picture and what they have to do to put themselves in a good position in the postseason. This includes having enough games of their opponents to scout their strengths, weaknesses and attack them.
There will be no football games in Durango this week as Durango and FLC are on the road. However, nearby Bayfield has its homecoming game on Friday. After over a month on the road to start its season, Durango volleyball has its first home games over the next week. FLC mountain biking also looks to finish its season strong at the mountain bike national championships.
