We are so lucky in Durango to have successful public schools, with a strong school board leading the way. We should all do everything we can to get our incumbents – Brown, Parmenter, and Petersen – reelected, and continue the positive progress forward.
Under their guidance, math scores have increased substantially, and we rank 9th in the state for schools with more than 3,000 students. Durango is the only district with this distinction outside of the front range. Reading scores are rising, 86% of students are earning college credit in high school, and more career and technical pathways have been created. The board prides itself on transparency, addressing the needs of students, parents, staff, and the community.
I am proud to support our public schools, and will be voting for Brown, Parmenter, and Petersen.
