Oct. 28 was a terrible, horrifying day for Durango, and for Colorado. The armed forces of the Trump regime, without cause, attacked American citizens and taxpayers standing for democracy and exercising our rapidly diminishing First Amendment rights. The very sight of an armed goon walking up to and purposely discharging pepper spray directly into the faces of citizens is revolting and disgusting.
I feel lost. I am angry. This cannot continue.
Trump, Hurd and ICE, please know that you have finally convinced me to stand with others against you and your illegal actions. I cannot and will not sit idly by and see my fellow Americans attacked in what used to be our America.
Since telephoning and writing letters to our elected federal officials are useless actions that are blatantly ignored, you will see more of me on the streets, standing and marching peacefully and legally in opposition to Trump and his brown shirt squads. I suppose you’ll have to gas and batter me, without cause.
To all elected federal officials, regardless of political party, you have given me no cause but to stand up for direct action.
You have lost the hearts and minds of the citizenry. And please remember your civics and history lessons. For every citizen you attack, 10 more will join in opposition against you.
