A head-on crash involving a Jeep and a Nissan resulted in the closure of one southbound lane Monday afternoon near 21st Street and Main Avenue.

Durango Police Department officers closed the southbound lane to remove the damaged vehicles. No injuries were reported, according to city spokesman Tom Sluis, though one citation was issued.

“It was a head-on crash, but no one was transported to the hospital,” Sluis said. “A citation was issued to one of the drivers.”

Sluis said he was unable to provide the identities of the drivers involved because it was too early in the investigation.
