Guardrail improvements along Florida Road (County Road 240) will begin Monday and are anticipated to take about five weeks to complete.
La Plata County Road and Bridge has been contracted to raise or replace 3.2 miles of guardrail starting at mile marker 6 near Edgemont to mile marker 9.2 near County Road 246.
Traffic will be reduced to a single lane for the majority of the project and motorists can expect delays of up to 20 minutes.
The projected end date is Dec. 26.
