Kirk: Pro-family, pro-woman, pro-dialogue

Recent letters to the Herald express dismay over Fort Lewis College’s acceptance of a Turning Point USA chapter. Charlie Kirk was accused of promoting hate speech and intimidating those with whom he engaged, when, in fact, he encouraged students to have goals and work hard to achieve them.

He was pro-family, extolling the virtues of the intact family and pointing out the fact that a large majority of incarcerated people have grown up in families where the dad had abandoned them. He was pro-women as he supported keeping boys/men out of female sports.

He was pro-life, noting the biological fact that human life begins at conception. He promoted dialogue, was never rude and got people to think. All the above examples are positive, not hateful.
