A Farmington man faces three felony counts and two misdemeanor charges after police were called to his apartment party over the weekend.
Nicholas Jones, 19, reportedly told Farmington police he was having a “rager” when officers arrived at 2:02 a.m. April 5 at the Cannery Apartments, 400 Nelson Ave.
Police were called to the scene after reports of a man falling from a balcony during a loud party, according to the statement of probable cause.
When police arrived, they reportedly found five or six teenage boys on the floor of a third-floor apartment. A 17-year-old, reportedly admitted that he fell but told police it was not from the balcony, court records state.
Jones identified himself as the apartment’s tenant and reportedly told police that he purchased BuzzBalls and Twisted Tea for the party and that he used a fake ID, court records state.
Jones provided police with his fake identification cards, which showed he was a resident of Colorado. He reportedly said that he previously attended Texas Tech University and purchased the fake identification cards from a male at the college, according to the affidavit for arrest warrant.
Jones was charged with three counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, fourth-degree felonies, one count of possession of alcohol by a minor, a misdemeanor, and one count of possession of a forged or fictitious license, a petty misdemeanor.
Jones was booked into the San Juan County Detention Center and was released the next day on his own recognizance.
A preliminary examination was set for 8:30 a.m. April 15 in Farmington Magistrate Court.
