Durango High School students will host a community game night focused on drought resilience from 6 to 8 p.m. April 23 at the Powerhouse, 1333 Camino del Rio.
The event is organized by students in Ryan Brink’s geology class in partnership with the Hazard Education, Awareness and Resilience Task Force at the University of Colorado Boulder. The interactive, family-friendly game will explore how communities can prepare for and respond to drought conditions.
Students will facilitate gameplay and share research on local water issues, including displays and posters based on interviews with regional water stakeholders, who will attend as guests of honor.
The project also supports students working toward earning the Colorado Seal of Climate Literacy, a recognition Durango School District was the first in the state to award.
Dinner will be provided. Community members are encouraged to attend.
