Over the past year, I have met one-on-one with all of our City Council members while advocating for better bike and pedestrian infrastructure.
While I am not privy to internal council conversations, Councilor Kip Koso has been the most willing to listen and respond to our group’s concerns, even when we disagree.
I was shocked to learn the council ignored 25 years of precedent without even a conversation during the recent selection of mayor pro tem. The lack of professionalism and even common courtesy is reprehensible and leaves citizens like me questioning the process and what occurs between the city manager and council members.
Whatever concerns council members may have had, there is no excuse for a public sandbagging.
I strongly encourage the council to revisit this decision.
