Rotary Club of Durango to meet Tuesday

Kelsie Borland, executive director of The Hive DGO, will speak at a virtual meeting of the Rotary Club of Durango at 6 p.m. Tuesday via Zoom.

The Hive DGO has been serving the Durango community since October 2019. Its mission is to provide an inclusive, safe space for youths to develop and discover their true selves by providing passion-based exploration through creative expression and mentorship. The Hive has served more than 120 youths and more than 50 families through various programs including music, art, skateboarding, snowboarding and youth-led community murals. It also currently offers financial support programs for local families in need of assistance paying bills and buying groceries.

Borland’s 12 years of nonprofit work includes grant-writing and fundraising. The Hive was a brainchild of hers and two colleagues in the organization.

Virtual visitors using Zoom are welcome.
