Letter: Porter-Norton expresses gratitude

Dear Durango Herald editors:

I would like to thank the voters for selecting me as the next La Plata County commissioner from District 2. Thank you to the people who voted for me. It was a close race, and I’m appreciative for the victory.

To the volunteers who worked so hard on my campaign, I sincerely thank you, whether you stuffed envelopes, dropped literature, hosted an event or helped me raise resources.

I wish to thank Jack Turner for running. I know he deeply cares about this county and has many good ideas for how to make it better.

To all the residents of La Plata County, no matter where you live or how you voted, I will listen to you and work for you.

My phone line and door will be open, and I will quickly get to work so I can hit the ground running in January.

Marsha Porter-Norton La Plata County commissioner-elect
