My son Lucas has learning disabilities and is very successful in our community. I just heard that Trump called Jeff Sessions mentally retarded! What is wrong with the president? The most awful word you can say is “retarded,” it is as bad as calling our great community of African Americans an awful word.
Lucas was going to vote for Trump until he saw Trump imitate a reporter with physical disabilities during his campaign. At that exact moment, Lucas said he could not vote for that man.
Our folks with disabilities are so much better than that man who has the title of president. What a shame it is that he still has followers. How awful is this person some call president!
No one should be humiliated by anyone else. What we need is kind, understanding neighbors. I have to say that in Durango, all of our neighbors are kind. Walmart, bus drivers, customers and all of Walmart employees treat Lucas with respect. Respect is what Aretha Franklin sings about. We need to be respectful of all.
