A total of 12 concrete bridge girders, each 140 feet long and weighing 185,000 pounds, will be transported to the U.S. Highway 550/U.S. Highway 160 Connection South Project site next week.
Weather permitting, traffic at the U.S. Highway 160/Highway 172 intersection will be fully stopped beginning at 6 a.m. Monday at least three times as a total of six trucks move through the intersection, turning south on Highway 172.
Two trucks will move through at a time. The trucks will continue south on Highway 172 and turn west on County Road 220 to reach the project site at County Road 220 and U.S. Highway 550.
The same exact scenario will happen Thursday morning.
