There’s no better time to get out and walk downtown than during the fall. And though autumn doesn’t technically begin until Thursday, leaves have started changing and you can see your breath in the early morning.
Starting at 5 tonight, downtown galleries will be welcoming you into their spaces during their Colorfest Gallery Walk. Here’s what some of them have planned:
Featuring new works from multiple local artists, including CLP, Union, Ink and Carol Martin. There will be refreshments, discounts and door prizes.
Featuring numerous new works by local gallery artists, including Lisa Pedolsky, Gretchen Magwitz, Susan Kemmerly, Mary Orsini and Pat Hartman. Many of the artists will also be in attendance.
Steel sculpture by artist Wagner Kelly. 67” tall
Main gallery and art library will be open. There will be wine, beer, snacks.
Showcasing unique sculptures by nationally known glass artist Michael Hopko. An avid outdoorsman, Michael captures the beauty and energy of his subject, the freshwater trout in stunning detail, combining art and craftsmanship. Refreshments will be served.
Featuring artist Laurel Covington-Vogl (Fort Lewis College professor emeritus) “My Asian Autumn.” Watercolors of a trip to Japan last Autumn. Artist will be present. Wine and food will be served.
Margy Dudley, the owner and founder of the Open Shutter is opening in the Red Room Gallery and she’ll be at the opening to discuss her work and to celebrate 15 years of contemporary fine art photography. Jeremy Wade Shockley is opening a small show (five pieces) in the Vault Gallery, and he’ll be there, too.
Features fine-art nature photography of the Four Corners. The gallery showcases landscape, wildlife and nature photography of internationally collected photographer Frank Comisar.
Sendero will host live demonstations by Rebecca Koeppen, Milt Beens and Juanita Nelson.
Two-man show during Gallery Walk Sorrel Sky Gallery Two-Man Show for Gallery Walk “Preservation, Guardianship, Harmony and Balance” features jewelry artists Doug Magnus and Toby Pomeroy features the jewelry of Doug Magnus and Toby Pomeroy. The opening reception pairs the work of two dedicated artists, whose designs are influenced by their individual perception of, and their personal sense of responsibility to nature. The show will continue through September.
Featuring work from its newest owner/artist, Rosie Carter. Spotlighting the work of represented artists: Patrice DeLorenzo, Aaron Berg, Jonah Amadeus, Miki Harder and Crystal Hartman. Patrice will be painting live in the gallery throughout the evening. Featuring live music outside in front of the gallery, and poets reading their work in the gallery throughout the evening.
Featuring a selection of Burnham area weavings and whimsical Folk Art carvings by Delbert Buck. A short video of Marie Begay, one of our most special weavers, is now finished and will be showing continuously at the gallery.
Also participating are Mesteño Gallery and Nature Revealed Gallery.
