A friend and I took a road trip to Colorado Springs, Cañon City, Pueblo, Walsenburg, Alamosa, Pagosa Springs, Durango, Montrose, Delta, Hotchkiss and Rifle. If the yard signs are any barometer, Trump has it 20 or more to 1. Whether rural Colorado voters even matter at all anymore still remains to be seen. More likely, Boulder and Denver will simply continue ignoring the sparsely populated areas just as they always have until they need food to eat or fuel to run their cars when the sun goes down. And they want us to approve their popular vote measure to simply give them complete control? Based on what little I saw of Rifle, if Lauren Boebert can make a go of it starting up and running a restaurant off the beaten track along I-70, Congress should be a snap by comparison.
