I had to make a trip to the Durango Walmart. Only about one out of 20 customers were wearing face masks, but most were amiably physical-distancing. But while one customer walked down an aisle with a cart and several of us other customers stepped back to allow her through, a Walmart employee (with no mask) just blazed on past those of us who stood aside and walked within two feet of that lady.
Two other employees (no masks) stood chatting within two feet of each other for an extended period of time.
The checkout guy (who was very nice) also did not have a mask and there was no physical barrier between him and customers. As I watched, he passed out one of those kid’s stickers to a young child, and the checkout man’s hand touched the child’s hand. Yikes!
Why isn’t Walmart providing face and mask protection for their employees and making them wear them?
Why isn’t Walmart training their employees about how to properly distance themselves, and requiring them to do it?
Walmart should be setting a good example of how to act responsibly in this time of crisis; instead, it is basically indicating, “We don’t care if our employees get sick or if they pass it on to our customers.”
Please, Walmart, step up and do the right thing! I know I won’t be shopping at your store until you make drastic improvements.
