Public no longer welcome at Electra Lake

The Electra Sporting Club has added a new species to the list of invasive animals they want to keep out of Electra Lake: Joe Public.

In total deference to the Colorado Parks and Wildlife boat inspection process that requires boats be clean, drained and dry, Electra Lake now says any boat that has been in any other body of water in the last six months will not be allowed to launch on the lake.

Proven decontamination processes and seals which can be obtained at Vallecito Reservoir by certified inspectors were sufficient last season but now are inadequate.

This is clearly a move by the wealthy, exclusive membership of Electra Lake to create a fully private lake.

This goes directly against the articles of incorporation enacted in 1910 ensuring public access would be maintained.

Electra Sporting Club can easily ensure the cleanliness of the lake by installing their own decontamination station, which they have been promising for several years but have yet to create.
