9:58 a.m. Five homeless people were loitering at Walmart, 1155 South Camino del Rio.

1:06 p.m. A small child was alone inside a blue minivan at Durango Post Office, 222 W. Eighth St.

1:11 p.m. A child was inside a blue Buick with the windows rolled up at Big 5 Sporting Goods, 400 S. Camino del Rio.

2:17 p.m. Someone floating by on the Animas River reported an intoxicated man behind the fish hatchery, who was unable to stand, at 100 E. 16th St.

3:43 p.m. Someone reported an injured deer that needed to be put down on the side of Roosa Avenue, near U.S. Highway 160.

3:47 p.m. Someone outside of Sonic Drive-In reported almost being hit by a white truck, which was traveling northbound on East Eighth Avenue, after it ran a red light and went off the road at the junction of Colorado Highway 3 and Santa Rita Drive.

7:41 p.m. Someone reported that people were following a bear on East Third Avenue near Eighth Street.

8:32 p.m. Someone reported that a man on a motorcycle was possibly dealing drugs at Brookside Park, 2301 Main Ave.

Friday

3:20 a.m. A man was hanging out of a window, yelling, at west 33rd Street and Main Avenue.

11:03 a.m. A woman reported that her son took her dog the day before.

12:10 p.m. A man was sleeping on the sidewalk at east Ninth Street and Main Avenue.

2:43 p.m. A bear was trying to open the back door of the residence at 377 E. 13th St.

12:49 p.m. Someone reported that people were playing loud music on the beach next to the Animas River, in the 900 block of Animas View Drive.

3:42 p.m. Someone needed help with their combative son at Albertsons, 311 W. College Drive.

5:03 p.m. A man with a Mohawk and yellow shorts was yelling and harassing people at the Exxon gas station, at 600 East Fourth Ave.

7:14 p.m. Two large groups of homeless people were yelling and blocking the sidewalk at 800 Main Ave. and 900 Main Ave.

8:03 p.m. A woman was reportedly on methamphetamine and heroin at Fifth Street Eatery, 139 E. Fifth St.

9:10 p.m. A bear got into some trash outside of the old library, at East Second Avenue and 12th Street.

Saturday

1 a.m. A bear was rummaging through trash at Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, 561 Main Ave.

2:21 a.m. A bear got into a dumpster at Hillcrest Apartments, 1000 Goeglein Gulch Road.

7:57 a.m. Police received a report that a bear knocked over every trash can in the 500 block of Main Avenue.

9:55 a.m. Someone reported seven people smoking marijuana and possibly drinking in the Rochester Hotel parking lot, at 726 East Second Ave.

10:32 a.m. A man in a white-and-gold four-door Chevrolet Silverado reportedly threatened to shoot someone on west College Drive, near the railroad depot parking lot.

11:41 a.m. Someone reported that a girl, about 8 to 10 years old, was wearing a Wendy’s outfit and waving at passing cars in front of Wendy’s, 1840 Main Ave.

1:50 p.m. Police received a report that someone at Applebee’s, 800 Camino del Rio, left to use the restroom and never returned.

5:07 p.m. Someone reported that people were riding mopeds and popping wheelies on the trail at East Third Avenue and 29th Street.

5:30 p.m. Someone reported that two younger male subjects were riding mopeds northbound on the Animas River Trail, toward Rank Park, at 127 Alamo Drive.

7:34 p.m. Police received a report of burglary that involved a young man and woman carrying large bags, leaving the Tercero Townhomes complex, 2123 West Third Ave.

8:26 p.m. An intoxicated man was walking into traffic at Riverview Drive and Florida Road.

9:09 p.m. A bear was in a dumpster at Arroyo Drive and Forest Avenue.

9:36 p.m. A man reportedly urinated on someone’s car parked outside of Brown’s Sport Shoe, 842 Main Ave.

11:05 p.m. An intoxicated female was banging on doors at Durango Downtown Inn, 800 Camino del Rio.

Sunday

1:26 a.m. A bear knocked over the metal trash can outside Starbucks, at 500 Main Ave.

3:18 a.m. A resident at 374 East Fourth Ave. reported that a bear was stuck in their neighbor’s backyard, and was being aggressive and tearing up the property.

7:24 a.m. Police received a report of a delusional man standing in the middle of the road at 400 E. Ninth Street.

8:04 a.m. A man was sleeping in the hot tub at the Days End, 2202 Main Ave.

3:20 p.m. An unoccupied vehicle rolled through the Durango Mall parking lot, and hit a curb outside JCPenney, 800 South Camino del Rio.

6:54 p.m. A woman was throwing things at 2977 East Second Ave.

10:35 p.m. Someone stole the charity box of money from Tequila’s, 948 Main Ave.

11:10 p.m. An intoxicated woman was asleep in the bathroom at South City Market, 6 Town Plaza.

Monday

12:56 a.m. Someone reported that two raccoons were in their house and requested assistance, at 1106 Oak Drive.

Durango Fire

Firefighters and medics responded to 68 calls Thursday to Sunday, including five sick people, three breathing problems, a pregnancy/childbirth, a stroke, a gas leak, a brush fire, a structure fire and a case of back pain.
