Letters: I’m reconciled to some of your failings

As a longtime print and e-Herald subscriber, I have reconciled myself to the left-leaning editorials as well as a lack of journalistic skills by reporters.

One of my chores on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday when I’m online is to print the crossword puzzle for my wife, as it appears in the e-memory online edition of the Herald. This version has the same content as the print edition.

In reading the online print edition, it suddenly dawned on me that those of us that only read the Herald web pages are being seriously shortchanged. Granted, if you want to look at the Herald classifieds, high school sports box scores, detailed weather or the obituary listings, you can do some digging and find that information. By the same token, those people who are only looking at the Herald’s website with eight or 10 featured stories are missing a lot of the happenings in and around La Plata County that are part of the print edition.

The Herald is certainly taking advantage in this era of instant gratification and short attention spans with selective news coverage.
