The city of Durango has contracted with Scott’s Pro-Lawn for turf fertilization and noxious weed abatement.
Herbicides used for weed abatement are Vessel Broadleaf Herbicide and Q4 Turf Herbicide. The weed control is repeatedly tested and approved by the Environmental Protection Agency, and Scott’s Pro-Lawn is licensed by the Colorado Department of Agriculture.
City parks employees will also be applying turf fertilizer to facilities not treated by Scott’s Pro-Lawn. Applications improve the quality of rights of way, parks and open spaces in the city’s system. Applications will start Sept. 9 and continue through Oct. 7.
Wednesday: Santa Rita Park – fertilizer.
Sept. 15: Buckley Park, Rotary Park, Chapman Hill, Downtown Brown – fertilizer and weed treatment.
Sept. 16: Durango Softball Complex at Fort Lewis College – fertilizer.
Sept. 17: Fassbinder Park , Viles Park, Crestview Park, Roosa Park – fertilizer and weed treatment.
Sept. 22: Fanto Park, Needham Park, Folsom Park – organic fertilizer, Third Avenue Parkway – fertilizer and weed treatment.
Sept. 23: Recreation Center, Rank Park – fertilizer and weed treatment.
Sept. 24: Durango Softball Complex, Fertilizer and Weed Treatment, Hillcrest View Park – fertilizer and weed treatment, Schneider Park, Pioneer Park, Brookside Park, Riverfront Park, Iris Park – organic fertilizer.
Sept. 29: Santa Rita Playground, Confluence Park, Historic Tram Park – fertilizer and weed treatment.
Sept. 30: Rio Vista Park, Memorial Park, Animas City Park – fertilizer and weed treatment.
Oct. 1: Jenkins Ranch Park – fertilizer and weed treatment.
Oct. 4: Riverview Sports Complex, Carnegie Building, Mason Center – fertilizer and weed treatment.
Oct. 5: Whitewater Park at Santa Rita – fertilizer and weed treatment.
Oct. 7: Greenmount Cemetery – fertilizer and weed treatment.
