Join the City of Durango, Local First and the Southwest Colorado Small Business Development Center from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Durango Recreation Center to learn about employee ownership and how it could benefit your business.
A panel of local businesses, including Alpine Bank, StoneAge Tools and Steamworks Brewing Company, will speak about why they chose to be employee-owned and what the benefits are. Learn about different models of employee ownership and resources available to help you weigh the options and make the transition.
This workshop is the second in a series being delivered through the Best for Colorado Challenge. Best for Colorado is a statewide initiative that helps businesses measure their impact and understand industry best practices using the rigorous B Corp Certification framework. According to the Rocky Mountain Employee Ownership Center, companies grow 2 to 3 percent faster after they become employee owned and are 25 percent more likely to stay in business.
Light snacks will be provided, but feel free to bring your own lunch.
