Animas Valley Grange will host the program “Harvesting Solar” and will present a demonstration and field trip about solar panels at 10 a.m. May 15 at Grange Hall, 7271 County Road 203.
Derek Wadsworth, owner of Solar Works, will give a PowerPoint presentation. He has been in business since 2006, primarily installing residential and small- to medium-sized commercial solar PV, installing off-grid and hybrid grid-tied systems with batteries.
After the presentation, attendees will view the outdoor solar installation the newer panels available. The group will then travel on foot to a local farm nearby to view a recent installation. Wadsworth will also provide an update about tax credits to homeowners and special grants available for farmers.
Masks and social-distancing protocols will be observed while inside the building. The entire presentation is anticipated to last two hours.
