Cases are going up, where can I get COVID-19 testing?

Free COVID-19 drive-thru testing is being conducted in the Durango Public Library overflow parking lot at the corner of East Third Avenue and 20th Street in Durango.

As coronavirus cases trend upward in Southwest Colorado and across the country, more residents are seeking COVID-19 testing.

San Juan Basin Public Health’s community testing site is available to those with symptoms or those who are concerned they may have been exposed through a known contact or general community interaction. Testing for travel-related purposes, or when residents need written results for an employer, is provided through private testing services.

Here are the diagnostic testing sites shared by SJBPH:

SJBPH community testing site

This site is conducted in partnership with Animas Surgical Hospital, Axis Health System and Mercy Regional Medical Center.

Location: Durango Public Library overflow parking lot at East Third Avenue and 20th Street.

Available: 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday to Thursday and Saturday.

Cost: Free.

Cedar Diagnostics

Location: In Durango, Pagosa Springs and Cortez.

Available: 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday. Appointments are required and available to anyone who thinks they might have been exposed.

Cost: $50, although most insurances cover the fee. For those without insurance, other options are available.

Archuleta Integrated Healthcare

Location: Pagosa Springs.

Available: Noon to 4:30 p.m. Tuesdays by appointment. Call (970) 264-2104 to schedule a visit for drive-by testing.

Cost: Free. No referrals are needed.

Pagosa Springs Medical Center

Location: Pagosa Springs.

Available: 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday, and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.

Cost: Free. No referrals are needed.

Quest Diagnostics

Quest Diagnostics, which has a national network of laboratories, offers diagnostic testing through primary care providers, Walmart, CVS Health and Google. At-home diagnostic testing kits are available on Quest Direct. The tests cost about $130, but insurance could cover some costs.
