Jeremy Cornum and Brandon Sanchez represented the Centauri Falcons in a sweep of the Coach and Player of the Year boys basketball awards in the Intermountain League this week.
Cornum was named the IML Player of the Year.
Sanchez was named the IML Coach of the Year.
Preston Hardy, Dillon Hoselton and Zane Phelps of Bayfield High School all were named to the All-IML first team.
Hardy and Hoselton are BHS juniors. Phelps is a sophomore.
Centauri finished its season in the second round of the CHSAA Class 3A Boys Basketball State Championships with a 55-32 loss to Holy Family, the eventual state champion.
Holy Family won both the boys and girls 3A state championships this season.
BHS finished its season 11-9 overall and 5-3 in the IML after the Wolverines’ loss in the IML Tournament semifinals.
Cornum was joined by K.C. Jarvies and Kolton Rogers on the All-IML first team. Clay McCarroll and Mitchell Wilson both were named honorable mentions.
Clayton Brubacher and Ryan Martinez of Alamosa were named to the first team.
Donald Poole and Keith Romero of Monte Vista were named first team.
Presley Garcia and Jaziah Martinez of Monte Vista were named honorable mentions, and Luke Devooght of Pagosa Springs was named honorable mention, as well.
