Local artist Susan Brightman will teach watercolor classes every Wednesday in October at Pine River Library, 395 Bayfield Center Drive in Bayfield.
From 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., she’ll be teaching a basic watercolors course. The class will consist of five weeks of basic techniques. Participants will make color charts, create washes and gradations and work on basic composition techniques. Attendees will finish with a project to take home. The class will provide all the necessary materials. The course costs $75 per student or $15 per student if you already have supplies. The price includes watercolor paints, brushes, brush holder, watercolor paper, gator board and a palette.
From 1:30-4:30 p.m., Brightman will host an Open Water Color Studio, which will consist of three hours of watercolor painting in a group setting. Brightman will provide a still life settings to paint, or participants bring whatever painting they would like to work on. Some instruction will be available. The cost for the afternoon session is $15 per student.
