Durango Police Department doesn’t want you to shave your face

‘No Shave November’ fundraiser will raise money for Special Olympics athletes

Durango Police Department invites the community to participate in “No Shave November” to raise money for Special Olympics Colorado athletes in Durango. Participating male officers will grow beards and female officers will wear “thin blue line” hair extensions through the month to show support.

To participate, mail or drop off a $50 check, payable to Special Olympics Colorado with “Durango local program” written on the memo line, to Officer Cindi Taylor at Durango Police Department, 990 East Second Ave. “Thin blue line” hair extensions are available through Nov. 30 at Libby’s Salon, 575 East Fourth Ave. To schedule an appointment, call 759-9063.

Men who want to grow beards can email “before” and “after” photographs from Nov. 1 and Nov. 30, to cindi.taylor@durangogov.org. Women are also encouraged to send pictures of hair extensions. Photographs will be put to a vote, and the winning submissions will be posted on Durango Police Department’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/durangopolice.

Proceeds will be donated to the Special Olympics Colorado program in Durango.

For more information, call or email Officer Cindi Taylor at 375-4772 or cindi.taylor@durangogov.org.
