DENVER – Thousands of people are expected to attend the fourth annual women’s march Saturday in Denver.
The march was scheduled to start at 10 a.m. at Civic Center Park and follow a route around the state Capitol and back to the park.
This year’s march won’t include a rally. After the march, participants will instead be invited to meet with local organizations to learn more about issues such as reproductive rights, climate change, gun safety and voting.
The first march in 2017 drew more than 100,000 people to Denver. It was held along with others across the country on the day after President Trump was inaugurated and many participants protested Trump’s election. This year, the city’s special events office estimates the event will draw around 50,000 people.
Women’s marches are also planned in Aspen, Cortez, Durango, Grand Junction, Greeley, Glenwood Springs, Steamboat Springs and Trinidad.
