The La Plata County Board of County Commissioners is seeking county residents who want to serve in an advisory role on several volunteer boards and commissions.
The county has more than 37 active boards or commissions with almost 200 people formally participating in the ongoing county government decision-making process. Here are panels seeking residents to volunteer for board positions:
Board of Adjustment.Board of Review.Citizens Review Panel for Child Welfare Grievances (must be a parent of a minor child).Durango Hills Road Improvement District Advisory Committee (resident of the district is required).Multi-Event Center Commission.Southwest Region 9 Workforce Board.Undesirable Plant and Rodent Advisory Commission.Complete descriptions for each board and commissions as well as an online application are available at www.co.laplata.co.us/how_do_i/apply_for/boards___commissions.php.
