75 years ago: The year’s big game yield from hunters in the Durango area was reported to be up to 72 deer, eight elk, five bears and one mountain lion.
50 years ago: Labor Day was reported to be a holiday for “almost everyone except city crews who collect trash.” They would be out on their regular schedule Monday morning.
25 years ago: A woman reported to Durango Police Department that her daughter was bitten by a cat in the 2200 block of Crestview Drive. Officers who responded “picked up and quarantined the cat and cited the cat’s owner.”
