Durango Botanical Society, established in 2010 as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, is changing its name to Durango Botanic Gardens.
The society has devoted its first decade to building public gardens at Durango Public Library. These efforts have been locally and nationally recognized. As the all-volunteer organization launches into its second decade, the name change will better identify its product and mission – beautiful public gardens that are dedicated to reflecting best practices in plant selection, maintenance and water conservation for Southern Colorado’s challenging climate.
