Wilson, Herringer retained as district judges

District judges Jeffrey Wilson and William Herringer were retained Tuesday by voters.

In results as of 9 p.m., Wilson had 77 percent of the “yes” to retain vote and Herringer had 75 percent.

Both are judges for the 6th Judicial District, which includes Archuleta, San Juan and La Plata counties. Retention means they’re eligible to serve another six years on the bench before having to stand for retention again.

Voters also were retaining a Colorado Supreme Court justice and 10 appeals judges in statewide results.

In Colorado, 99.2 percent of judges have been retained since the retention system began in 1990.
