City of Durango to fertilize, spray weeds through August

The city of Durango will conduct turf fertilization and noxious weed abatement at these times and locations:

Aug. 13-17: Turf fertilizer will be applied at Fanto Park and fields at Needham Elementary School; herbicide for noxious weed abatement will be applied at Folsom Park and Pioneer Park. Aug. 20-24: Turf fertilizer will be applied to the softball fields at Fort Lewis College, Brookside Park and Schneider Park. Aug. 31: Turf fertilizer will be applied at Jenkins Ranch Park and Smith Sports Complex at Fort Lewis College. The city of Durango promotes Best Management Practices in the stewardship of city lands to ensure the safe enjoyment of parks. Applications are conducted to improve quality of right-of-ways, parks and open spaces in the city’s parks system.
