Really love Durango, but please change

As a frequent visitor to Durango, I must say that the downtown street lights provide a level of lighting that is plain dangerous. I know that energy conservation is important, but the dimly-lit intersections are serious accidents waiting to happen. Combine the unfortunate lighting choice with bicyclists without lights, wearing dark clothes and it is sometimes scary to be behind the wheel downtown.

Also, we come for the live music, and I would like to remind the venue owners that if they don’t list their entertainers in the local papers, there is a pretty good chance that certain tourist dollars will be spent elsewhere or not at all. If I think nobody is playing I’ll get a movie. If there is live music, heck I’ll go listen every time! When I call around to see who is playing where, the phone-answerer usually doesn’t even know!

Love the city, I really do, but hey, don’t you want my money?
