The 57th annual San Juan Basin Regional Science Fair attracted students from all over Southwest Colorado, according to regional coordinator Sandra Corbitt. Students from sixth grade through 12th grade presented 248 projects. Brandon Navratil, left, a junior at Animas High School, explains his project, a portable conductivity probe that measures ions of dissolved solids per centimeter of solution, to Wendy Granneman, a fifth- and sixth-grade science teacher in Dove Creek. Brandon is the son of Trish McCormack and Scott Navratil.
