The Community Foundation serving Southwest Colorado administers a philanthropy program for Primus Restaurant, including monitoring donation requests and creating a program to support a different nonprofit each month with a portion of proceeds from the restaurant.
When Primus opened this summer, owners John and Kerry Daly partnered with the Community Foundation to establish a convenient, impactful way to give back to the community that has been so supportive of them.
Women’s Resource Center and Durango Nature Studies have each received $500 grants as part of Primus’ giving program. November’s nonprofit recipient is the La Plata County Humane Society and December’s nonprofit recipient is Manna. A portion of proceeds from restaurant sales each month is donated through the Community Foundation to support local causes.
