The monthly comedy show at the Henry Strater Theatre will be a little different Saturday night.
More than 10 regional comics will lampoon the town at Roast of Durango. No dog, Subie or dreadlock will be safe from ridicule.
“Expect to hear a lot of jokes about the Durangotang lifestyle,” said Wes Stein, event producer and local comic.
Stein said the roast is a response to the rough summer a lot of locals and businesses experienced with the 416 Fire.
“We thought it would be a fun chance to celebrate the end of the summer,” he said.
Alli Wolfe will be the emcee for the night. She will introduce local favorites such as Kate McLachlan, winner of this year’s Next Best Comic of the Four Corners, Tyrell Woodard and many others. Each will have 10 minutes to (lovingly) humiliate the place.
“You roast what you love, and we love this town,” Stein said. “It’s all very affectionate at the end.”
