The Eight Corners intersection at U.S. Highway 160 in Bayfield was mostly wet this week, with roads getting slippery on the way to Durango, according to reports from local drivers.
A winter storm warning was effect through Wednesday, with three to five inches of snow expected in the Pine River Valley on Wednesday. All after-school activities are cancelled Wednesday in Ignacio and Bayfield. Snow kept falling Thursday, as well, and the National Weather Service is predicting snow through today, with the storm clearing out tonight. Saturday should have partly cloudy skies.
Sunday is locals day at Purgatory, with $45 adult lift tickets. Part of the ticket proceeds benefit the Be FRANK Foundation, Trails 2000, La Plata Family Centers and Heart Safe La Plata. Coupons are required and are available at skipurg.com/benefit day.
