50 years ago: Jose A. Sage of Bayfield was driving southbound on East La Boca Road, three miles south of Ignacio, when he fell asleep at the wheel, drifted off the right side of the road and rolled his car down a 50-foot embankment.

25 years ago: During a special election, the city of Durango won the approval for $1.64 million in sewer revenue bonds by a vote of 2,138 to 859.
