Applications are now available for Music in the Mountains scholarships. The Music in the Mountains Shining Star Scholarship, for kindergarteners through eighth-graders, and the Music in the Mountains Private Lessons Scholarship, for ninth- through 12th-graders, provide financial assistance for students in Durango and the surrounding areas by paying up to half of the total cost of private music lessons. Scholarships are sponsored by the Bank of Colorado.
Students must show interest toward a particular instrument and a desire to increase their musical knowledge.
Financial need is important, but it is not the only criterion. Applications available online at www.MusicintheMountains.com, visit Bank of Colorado on Main Avenue or call the Music in the Mountains office at 385-6820 for more information.
Applications must be submitted by Wednesday, Oct. 25.
