Longtime LPEA employee Jeannette Simpson has been promoted to the staff position of human resources & payroll specialist. Most recently she served as payroll specialist.
A Bayfield resident, Simpson joined LPEA in June 2002 as a customer service representative but was accepted into an accounting position within a year, and subsequently was appointed to handle accounts payable in 2006. In 2012, she became a billing clerk, and in 2016, she was promoted to payroll specialist.
Simpson, originally from Arizona, studied at Arizona Western College and completed her associate’s degree in accounting at Portland Community College. After she moved to La Plata County, she worked at Bank of Colorado and SoundTraxx.
