Offense ‘plagues’ BHS volleyball

Wolverines lose in 4 at Farmington late Tuesday night

It was the offense “plaguing” the Bayfield Wolverines’ volleyball team Tuesday night at Farmington.

Farmington defeated Bayfield High School 3-1 – 25-14, 16-25, 25-20, 25-20.

Jenna Sirios led the Wolverines’ offense with eight kills and a .208 attack percentage, and Kirstie Hillyer and Jessie Roukema had seven each.

Suzie Rhodes had 27 assists in the loss.

“Jessie and Jenna performed well (Tuesday night) offensively and were instrumental in keeping Bayfield in the match,” BHS first-year head coach Terene Foutz said in an email to The Durango Herald late Tuesday night.

Defensively, Hillyer led BHS (6-2) with four of the Wolverines’ 10 team blocks, and Maddi Foutz led the team with 21 digs.

BHS next will play at Aztec at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.
