Starting with Chicago in 1893 and ending in San Francisco in the 19-teens, this was an era of change. The automobile might still be scaring horses in the countryside but was becoming familiar to city dwellers. Americans were better off than they had been for years and might even be enjoying those newfangled motion pictures. They also enjoyed a quality of life that their parents and grandparents never did with the coming of electricity among other things.

Funds set aside for Uncompahgre tunnel
Washington June 9 Two million five hundred thousand dollars of irrigation reclamation funds were conditionally set apart today by the Secretary of the Interior to be used in connection with the Uncompahgre irrigation project in Colorado. It is estimated that 100,000 acres of land will be reclaimed by this project.

Briggs & Dramer have completed one assessment and are now at work on their Tioga lode.
Freeman & McCloskey are now taking out ore quite fast at the Gold Dollar and will soon have enough ahead to commence shipping.
For big deals on La Plata mines are about to be completed, but, as many fail at the last moment, we shall not mention the properties this week.
