Rally rolling into 24th year

Sky Ute Casino will give away this Indian Scout, another Indian bike, and a Harley Davidson on Labor Day weekend. The Four Corners Motorcycle Rally is giving away three bikes, as well.

Ready to rumble?

The Four Corners Motorcycle Rally opened on Thursday and has a full slate of events through Sunday evening.

Events kick off today with a bike parade at 10 a.m. in the town of Ignacio, followed by a ride to benefit Building Homes for Heroes, which provides homes for veterans. The Duke City Stunt Riders perform at 4:15, followed by the Ben Marshal Band. Fox Fire Farm hosts a wine tasting at 5:30 p.m. at their winery near Ignacio.

Back at Rally Central, Third Time Charmed plays from 7 to 9:45 p.m., opening for headline act Los Lonely Boys at 10 p.m.

Saturday's events start with a special train ride on the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad at 9 a.m. Contests and events continue all day, including a campstove cooking contest at 12:30 p.m. sponsored by Farmers Fresh Market. Ralph Dinosaur and the Fabulous Volcanoes play from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., followed by Rockin' Dopsie and the Zydeco Twisters from 7:30 to 9 p.m.

On Sunday, the Christian Motorcycle Association holds services at 8 a.m. The Durango bike parade is at 11 a.m. The mayor's ride poker run begins at noon in Durango, as well. From 2 to 4 p.m. is biker bull riding, a longtime rally favorite, in Ignacio. Mutton busting is available for the kids.

Battlefield Gray plays from 2 to 5 p.m. Third Time Charmed plays at 5:30 p.m., followed by Rockin' Dopsy and the Zydeco Twisters at 9 p.m. Mud wrestling is at 10:40 p.m.
